Our Story

The Social Care Of Life became a vision of mine at a very young age in my childhood. I grew up in a multi-generational household on the southside of Chicago, Illinois, alongside a relative with multiple disabilities. I witnessed my aunt struggle to find a community that would best fit the needs of her son, named Arthur. Some challenges she faced along the way were lack of community support, resources, educational support, and parental support due to an absent father figure. With all of these odds being against her initially, she began to face greater stress as Arthur grew older and became more aggressive with his physical behavior. His behavior became impossible for my aunt and our family to manage properly. After multiple visits to the Emergency Room due to self inflicted injuries on himself or imposed injuries on others, Arthur soon would find himself an Angel. My aunt met a social worker who connected her to a residential community two hours outside of our home jurisdiction, which turned out to be a perfect fit. My family and I became very active in his new community and visited Arthur frequently. Arthur went from being a troubled boy that turned into a confident productive young man. Arthur's community protected the dignity of his character, which gave him the confidence to enjoy the quality of life he deserved. Arthur's journey of flourishment despite adversity, is what inspired the vision of The Social Care Of Life to be born. Here at The Social Care of Life Inc, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Since 2020, we’ve been consulting  and supporting our community members in a variety of ways. We measure our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. Just imagine what we can achieve together!
